Here are a few of my favorite resources for Blended Learning and how I use them.
1. CANVAS/ Google Classroom or other LMS - You need an organized way to share links to lessons. I post everything in CANVAS. You can view my courses hereMendez Math 7 Master and Math 7 Honors (2019-2020) 2. Khan Academy - See previous post! It's structured and not just for math any more. 3. Flipgrid - This is where I ask the hard questions, also known as "open middle" questions. It's a great way for students to share their thinking. Here is an example from 7th grade: Would You Rather - I get my topics from websites like Would You Rather Math and 3 Acts Math Tasks. Students work the problem out on paper and then record their answers and their thinking. 4. Quizizz - you can assign practice problems in a fun game like atmosphere. I like to assign as "Homework" but give a big window for a due date because when the window closes, students cannot go back in to complete the assignment. Here are a few to get you started. I'll add more and more details in future days/weeks. The key is to start with one tool. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. I've made plenty. I'll tell you about some in my next post. |
OCCUE has published a Flipgrid for all teacher to ask questions and get support. Check it out!
